plans to inaugurate four new locations nationwide this week, broadening the reach of the wholesale warehouse chain.
Two new locations are planned for Texas, with additional openings scheduled for Michigan and Massachusetts. The company
opened two stores
in California at the end of last week.
The inaugural site scheduled to launch in Sharon, Massachusetts on Wednesday will mark the 900th location worldwide and the 620th within the U.S., according to CEO Ron Vachris during a conference call with investment analysts on March 6.

Vachris mentioned on Thursday before the California launches that Costco anticipates opening an additional six stores in the U.S., two in Canada, and four elsewhere internationally within the coming half-year period. “The remainder of our fiscal year (concluding August 31) holds significant expansion plans for us,” he added.

The implementation of tariffs is described as “highly flexible.” However, during the conference call, executives mentioned that their company’s purchasing strength puts them in a good position to handle higher expenses effectively.
“Predicting the effect of tariffs is challenging, however, our team stays flexible with the aim to reduce the impact of rising costs on our members,” Vachris stated.
For the 12-week period concluding on February 16, Costco reported an increase of 9.1% in their net sales, amounting to $62.53 billion compared to $57.33 billion in the previous year. Sales within the U.S. saw a rise of 8.6% over this timeframe.
The store announced 78.4 million paid memberships, marking a rise of 6.8%, with a corresponding growth in membership revenue of 7.4%.
The net income of $1.79 billion increased by 2.6%, however, this figure did not meet the $1.82 billion forecasted by analysts from S&P Global Market Intelligence.
