College Softball Rankings: Top 25 NCAA Teams Stand Out in Week 5 Poll

The beginning of the 2025 college softball season was filled with excitement.

We have witnessed two distinct squads ascending to the No. 1 position, with frequent changes occurring below them. Due to Oklahoma’s significant victory against unbeaten South Carolina, they continue to hold onto their ranking at the top this week. Following strong performances, Texas Tech moved up several positions after defeating Oklahoma State twice, whereas Alabama keeps slipping down the rankings.

Here’s the
SofTech/USA Softball Top 25 Rankings
rankings, along with our game highlight of the week and what to anticipate in Week 6.

Play of the week

Hello, 911. I want to report a theft happening in College Station, Texas.

Take a look at this amazing play by Kendra Falby from Florida, who made an outstanding catch to prevent Texas A&M from hitting a potential grand slam.

Player to watch

Alexis DeBoer, INF, Washington.

Over the last five matches, she’s been unstoppable. During the weekend series, DeBoer smashed five home runs and maintained a impressive .371 batting average. Currently, she shares the national lead with 12 home runs this season. One of these homers came during the first weekend when they played against Alabama, where her father, Kalen, serves as the football coach.

Series to watch

No. 2 Texas vs. No. 3 Florida

  • Saturday at 2 p.m. on the SEC Network

  • Sunday at 1 PM on SECN+

  • Monday at 7 p.m. on the SEC Network

Will the Longhorns manage to extend their impressive 15-game win streak? Alternatively, can the Gators put a stop to Texas’ star pitcher Teagan Kavan? With Florida leading the nation in both home runs with 56 and holding the third-highest team batting average at .387, this game promises to be thrilling. The outcome of this series might also have significant implications for upcoming rankings next week.
