Canada “will never, under any circumstances, become part of America,” stated Carney, the incoming prime minister, noting that individuals “have concerns about Canada’s future, considering President Trump’s threats and an increasingly fragmented and perilous global landscape.”

In 2013, the Bank of England appointed Carney, marking his role as the institution’s first non-British governor since its establishment over three centuries ago. Additionally, he became the first individual to lead two G7 central banks at any point in time, as reported by Reuters.
