Billy Joel Cancels 8 Shows for Recovery: “Health Comes First”

He was forced to postpone eight performances because of a health issue, as Joel required time to “heal from recent surgery and to participate in physical therapy under the guidance of his physicians.”

It is anticipated to fully recover, as stated, and the engagements that were set from July 5 onwards will continue as originally planned for this year.

I deeply regret delaying any performances, but my health has to be prioritized,” Joel stated. “I am eager to return to the stage and spread the delight of live music among our incredible fans. Thanks for your comprehension.

Further information about Joel’s health condition wasn’t disclosed, but he experienced a scare recently following an incident the previous month.

Seven of Joel’s postponed shows have unveiled new dates, starting with a performance in November in Detroit and continuing until at least early July 2026 in Charlotte, North Carolina. However, the show initially planned for April 26 at American Family Field in Milwaukee hasn’t been rearranged yet.

Tickets bought earlier will be valid for the rescheduled dates, and refunds for direct-purchased tickets can be requested.
