The mother of an American teen who was killed during a holiday in Aruba back in 2005 is now speaking up about the ongoing hunt for the missing U.S. college student, Sudiksha Konanki.
“The family feels incredibly lucky to have the support of the American Embassy in their efforts. Unfortunately, this was not available when we were searching in Aruba,” said Beth Holloway, mother of Natalee Holloway, during an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital regarding the hunt for Konanki in the Dominican Republic.
“Certainly, they are reviewing footage from hotel cameras, gas stations, traffic lights, store windows, and all places where they dined, any casinos they visited, as well as beach areas,” Holloway went on to say.
Natalee Holloway, who was 18 years old, died due to murder when she was on a senior trip for Mountain Brook High School from Alabama in Aruba back in 2005.

Following her daughter’s murder, Beth Holloway has become an advocate on her behalf and stated that the vanishing of Konanki, aged 20, ought to serve as a cautionary tale for tourists.
Holloway stated, “I’ve developed a comprehensive safety plan for both travelers and residents across all age groups, aimed at encouraging everyone to dedicate just as much attention to preparing for the conclusion of their trip as they would to deciding where to go, what to wear, and whom to accompany.”

The National Police Force stated that they are investigating a male acquaintance who was with Konanki near the time she went missing.
It is unclear who the “young man” is, but police said he was in the water at the same beach, and they are questioning him in an attempt to corroborate his version of events, according to a translation of a Spanish-language statement.
In response to a Monday report suggesting that Konanki might have drowned, a representative from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office informed Fox News Digital that they “are aware of these claims but haven’t come across any supporting evidence so far.”
“Until yesterday evening, investigators remained engaged in interviews with individuals who might have encountered or spent time with her last Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. They also continued examining security footage and cell phone records to better understand the events and reasons behind them,” stated spokesperson Thomas Julia.
Michael Dorgan, Greg Norman, Lorraine Taylor, and Audrey Conklin from Fox News also contributed to this report.
